Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about what it’s like to work together?

These are some of the most common questions from patients and families about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, please contact me directly.

  • I am located in Belmont, California. I am currently offering in-person sessions at my Belmont office and offering teletherapy sessions (via secure video) to patients throughout California. I may offer teletherapy sessions to patients in other states beyond California in the future. If you are located outside of California and are interested in therapy options, please contact me for more information.

  • Yes, I offer in-person sessions for therapy and neuropsychological testing at my office in Belmont, California.

  • You will receive a unique link for each video visit (HIPPA-compliant) prior to your appointment. This can be sent by secure e-mail or secure messaging. You should join from a quiet, private environment with minimal distractions. Reliable, high speed internet connection with a bandwidth of at least 10-15 mbps is optimal for video visits, and you can join by either computer or phone.

  • Rates for therapy sessions range from $250 - $350 per session, depending on the session length and type of treatment. These rates are consistent with other PhD level clinicians in the Bay Area.

  • I do not contract with insurance companies as an "in-network" provider, and individuals are expected to pay for therapy at the time of appointment. I accept check, cash, debit & credit cards for payment.

If your insurance policy includes out-of-network benefits, a portion of your fees may be covered. I can provide you with documentation to submit directly to your insurance company for any reimbursement to which you are entitled. Please contact your carrier PRIOR to your first appointment to determine your out-of-network benefits. When doing this, be sure to clarify if telehealth/teletherapy sessions are eligible for reimbursement as some insurers treat these sessions differently.

  • I have a limited number of appointments offered at a lower rate, on a sliding scale. I also offer discounted rates for Stanford affiliates (students, post-docs, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff). Please contact me directly for questions.

  • Prior to your first appointment, I encourage you to schedule a free, 15-minute phone consultation to learn more about the services I offer and how I can best support you. The initial therapy/intake appointment is focused on getting to know each other and collaboratively identifying treatment goals.

  • I offer a limited number of appointments in the evening (after 5pm) and on the weekends, for an additional fee. Please contact me directly if you have questions.
